Hi, I’m Kelly Albert a.k.a Gateau Superstar!

I am a Chinese-French Canadian foodie from Montreal. I have always loved getting into the kitchen to bake and cook; especially, for my loved ones. My passion for all things foodie comes from my parents and older brother who love to cook, bake and go to restaurants!

I have an epic cookbook collection in a fairly small apartment. I don’t necessarily follow a recipe if I see something that I disagree with and often swap out ingredients that I don’t have handy. I always say that I shouldn’t be left to my own devices because it usually ends up with me wandering into the kitchen to bake something.

Where did Gateau Superstar come from? My original Instagram account became flooded with more pictures of food than pictures of me (much to the chagrin of my loved ones). So I made a dedicated account just to showcase what I am making in the kitchen. The name is inspired by a song and stuck with me.

I used to host a food radio show called Montreal Eats that aired on CJAD 800AM (RIP). On my off-hours, I am usually in the kitchen or reading cookbook and other recipe sites to be inspired. Feel free to follow along as I share the recipes I have made, stories of my successes and failures in the kitchen and everything in between!
